Representatives of the National Cyber Security Coordination Center (NCSCC) under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) and the National Department of Cybersecurity (DSNC) of Romania conducted a session for representatives of local bodies and critical infrastructure facilities of the Chernivtsi region.

The event was held with the assistance of Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration and the support of the U.S. Department of State, as well as CRDF Global in Ukraine.

This session aimed to share Ukrainian/Romanian experiences and provide a cybersecurity training for almost 50 local governmental representatives, as 90% of critical cyber incidents occur in the regions. Therefore, within the framework of the event, about 50 representatives of cybersecurity entities and critical infrastructure facilities of the region discussed in detail the key threats to the cybersecurity of the regions and the directions of counteraction. Particular attention was paid to the problematic issues of interaction at the regional level and challenges in raising awareness about cybersecurity.

Strengthening human resources in the field of cybersecurity is one of the priorities of the Cybersecurity Strategy of Ukraine. Therefore, under the National Cybersecurity Cluster, representatives of the NCSCC and the Department of Cybersecurity of Romania held several lectures for students of the Chernivtsi National University named after Yuriy Fedkovych.
